In therapy I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systems Theory, positive psychology, and a bio-psycho-social approach to treating mental illness and other challenges we all face in life. The ideas from my videos are frequently adapted from multiple sources. Many of them come from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, especially the work of Steven Hayes, Jason Luoma, and Russ Harris. The sections on stress and the mind-body connection derive from the work of Stephen Porges (the Polyvagal theory), Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing) Francine Shapiro (EMDR), and Bessel Van Der Kolk. I also rely heavily on the work of the Arbinger institute for my overall understanding of our ability to choose our life’s direction.
And deeper than all of that, the Gospel of Jesus Christ orients my personal worldview and sense of security, peace, hope, and love https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/believe

  1. Ok…I am stilt skeptical like you because there are limited studies. On the positive side, I’ve recently been introduced to Ayurveda, natural health, it suggests a very clean diet that works directly with digestion which I think it’s another way to balance the gut. I’ve followed clean diets and find it to decrease depression and anxiety symptoms. Just wanted to share… looking forward to your November video ❤

  2. I had to double check the date of this post when I heard you have a video coming out in November. It's March now. I could only dream of being that organized that I can plan something 8 months in advance… LOL! You're the best!

  3. There are no limits to what people won't come up with🤣💩🤣. I had that problem once and found by eliminating all gluten, most dairy and eating raw sauerkraut made all the difference in the world both physically and mentally

  4. I could never, also wouldn’t it be better for you to just make lifestyle changes, and try to figure out what is better for you, like a proper testing scheme for people to see what works for them.

  5. 😳…. That s Makes Me Really ANGRY!! Actually Putting This Idea/Theory Out There As Some Kind Of False Cure For ANYTHNG!!! Human💩 Is EXPELLED By The Body Because It Is WASTE – Poison – A Threat To The Gut! Transferring One Person's' 💩 To Anyone Else – Who Is Likely Desperate, Naive & Vulnerable Is Not Only BullShit But Extremely Dangerous & Irresponsible!! Certainly NOT Helpful! My Microbiome Is Screaming SERIOUS🐂💩!!! NEVER EVER EVER!!! NO MATTER HOW BAD My Depression Or Whatever Got!!! Whoever Came Up w/This Idea, Theory, Whatever – Needs To Be LOCKED AWAY FOREVER!!! I've Heard If "Reaching" But This Is RIDICULOUS, VERY DANGEROUS & TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE!😡 But…Hey – Let's Practice On The "Desperate, Really Vulnerable People!"…👹

  6. My whole family growing up had gut illnesses and diseases. It was stress anxiety and being assaulted by my older sister. Everyone in the family even the bully had these problems. The gut is definitely connected to our brain

  7. Omg please include a warning to not try it at home – wasn't there a story where a mother and daughter attempted this literally at home without medical advice. one being obese and the other of average weight – the latter rapidly gained weight and became obese😅

  8. Thank you for this short! I have been interested in the subject and yes, disgusting and all it seems like it can take forever to transform your gut, micro biome with probiotics and diet. I watched a video about a woman in Canada who cured her bipolar disorder by doing this transplant, using her boyfriend’s poop. I know it’s wild, but this could be an amazing treatment. I am curious if they will start doing studies with people diagnosed with schizophrenia as I know they are also affected by different micro biome issues and a lot of gut problems.
