Is there going to be some day a video about how high functioning autists can fight with executive dysfunction etc or work related for them videos?

I wonder if gripstrength trainers work for this
Damn I think i could be adhd
This is how I can go to the coffee shop and study but I really can't study in my own house. It's too quiet but if I go to the coffee shop there's people moving around ordering talking. There's music going on and I could literally focus in
This is why all my teachers hated me so much, and it's also why I homeschool my daughter. Just like her mom, this one.
me listening to thjis in the background be like
I'm atypical autistic, I feel like I can relate so many things between ADHD "if I wrote wrong sorry, English is my second language", I couldn't make it to a university and that summer one of my father's friend said "promise me this time you gonna pass that exam" and after I promise, I've never worked that hard before and normally things like that makes me work for few days and I got reset, but it lasted one and a half years "I worked for exam and got a otomotive engineering university, than decided to adding 1 year and learning English", and listening music was helping me a lot. But then I made a mistake and quit Adderall without telling my psychiatrist and spent a year without it. Now using it is terrible, it only helps me stay awake on lessons, not to focus so right now so in lessons it's more like I'm scratching my head and I'm looking to board but in my head I'm not here, I'm in a different world.
Would it be possible to tell how to focus for people who are very often in their own mind, and reality becomes background noise or even doesn’t exist anymore?
Quite dangerous when you are driving!
Hi my name is fidget.
You are more precious than anti matter.
Thank you so much
Im amongst the ADHDers who cant meditate with my eyes closed, i find it very much unmeditative to close my eyes and see nothin but the blackness of my eyelids; which is exacerbated by my aphantasia
idk I actually hate white noise or music to focus and I do have ADHD although I may also have autism
I have ADHD (diagnosed just last month), but I ALWAYS had to put on music to do homework in High School, and I do the same thing now at work. And in church when I'm trying to listen, my wife constantly has to tell me to stop pumping my leg. So yeah.
Yup, if I don't have something like rain sounds or music without vocals playing my work day is gone to distraction.
School system: instructions unclear, heavily medicating all kids with adhd and labeling them "insubordinate" if it doesnt work
What I love about you is the fact that you can talk and teach about mental health in the medically correct way but you can also simplify it so well for us regular folks to understand it also. Thank you for that ❤
Your wiggling is cute, mister…
Non-attentive (most common in girls) ADHD presents internally, rather than fidgeting and blurting things out, their mind wanders. They're more likely to have anxious thought cycling and daydreaming.
I feel more and more everyday that I have undiagnosed ADHD. All the videos are pointing to it. This video is a good example. I had the hardest time studying, but when I could do it effectively, it was always with music playing in my earbuds.
Hell, I managed to learn my final unit in Physics 30 completely in one night, in one shot, blasting Metallica the whole time lol.
Gotta love gaming and marijuana thats what my brain can focus on
Lofi and chewing gum
The wiggleing got me so bad😂
YES, another person explained it, we need 100% of our brain active. If we need 90% of your brain on task then we need 10% external stimulus.
If I’m doing a repetitive physical task I like to listen to a pod cast to fully stimulate my brain.
I knew someone that quit there job because management didn’t like them listening to headphones while working in a distracting open office. Having this be a known thing destigmatize the need for self steaming to be more productive worker.
I also used to do my homework in the loud cafeteria for my white noise. 😂
In my instance though I have to pick something less stimulating like white noise because music actually makes the issue worse.
Rare instance where I already knew Dr. K’s advice, but the places where I’m not allowed to listen to music are where I struggle the most 🫠
I need to listen to podcasts, even when I gotta write letters, otherwise I can't work 😅
Sometimes when my husband and I play games together he streams music for us both to listen to. I can only stand it for so long and always end up saying something like "how can you deal like this theres so much going on". Yep he has ADHD and lives in a world of constant music and it sbsolutely makes his life easier. I just cannot fathom the ammount of noise that must be going through his head every day. It seriously melts my brain.
What video is this short from?
what video is this from
i try to deprive myself of stimulation in lectures because i can’t pay attention. sometimes i would try to sit completely still for the entire class without moving or writing anything. i still haven’t figured out how to take notes because when i write something down i can’t pay attention to the speaking as well, and i would usually just give up and start drawing. i don’t draw anymore, but recently i’ve started making my own alphabets to keep myself from falling asleep in one of my lectures.
also, the fact that i can’t/don’t take notes is very unhelpful because i find that i often need to hear something and remember it the first time or review it multiple times before i understand, so i usually end up with huge gaps in my knowledge from when i wasn’t paying attention and not really knowing how to fill them in. naturally, that has a cascading effect, and i’ve failed a few classes over it.
anyway, i’m about to graduate soon, so none of this will probably ever matter again, but i pretty much wasted the past 20 years doing nothing and learning nothing.
I'm kind of jealous being autistic I cant focus unless silence.
I listen to music (different genres) for my entire work shift, while reading inpatient patient accounts to code them for billing. When I don’t have music playing, it’s way too quiet. 😂 I still either wiggle my legs, bite my nails, or rub my face.
idk if I have adhd, but some things make think I do. My dad would make us do "homework" over the summer breaks and I would not be able to focus/finish it until like the last hour before he came. I would get lost in thought or distracted. I procrastinated a lot in school/college, and now as an adult if I have work to do at home I listen to nighttime rain to focus. I generally enjoy staticky noises.
Soo a homemade test to see if someone has ADHD is to make them sit still (?
