St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services 1746-2016
In 2016, St Patrick’s Mental Health Services celebrated 270 years in existence.
We were founded by Jonathan Swift – Dean of St Patrick’s Cathedral, noted satirist and patriot – who, upon his death in 1745, left £12,000 in his will to ‘build a house for fools and mad’. This film charts our history and progress over the centuries.
We remain driven by Swift’s vision, energy and determination, and we aspire to be a recognised leader in:
– The provision of quality mental #healthcare
– The promotion of #mentalhealth awareness
– The protection of the #rights and integrity of those experiencing mental health difficulties.
Today, we are #Ireland’s largest independent, not-for-profit mental health service.

St. Pats… A great place to get hooked on benzos and ssri's while paying an extortionate amount of money to hear about meditation, mindfulness and work/life balance.. It's a great auld racket! They over medicate and over charge.. I wonder how many drug addicts those doctors have created. Come in stressed and burnt out, leave addicted to mind altering drugs.. Good luck
