What is CYMHS? (aka Child and Youth Mental Health Service)
Talking about your mental health is not a sign of weakness. It’s courageous, A sign of strength.
This video, developed with the help of young people and families who have a lived experience of mental health problems, explains why it is important to ask for help if you’re feeling overwhelmed, or sad, or anxious – just like you would if you had a physical injury. The video all tells you what you can expect when you yo first visit a child and youth mental health service (often referred to as ‘CYMHS’).
Our Child and Youth Mental Health Service specialises in helping infants, children and young people up to the age of 18 who have complex mental health needs. We work collaboratively and in a recovery-oriented way with children and young people and their families to help them get back on track to reach their optimal mental health.

Hi! I enjoyed your work a lot! I've been trying to find for a video similar to yours that breaks down the topics in this YouTube vid! 👌 That tip at 1:32 is knowledgable. Your lesson is similar to the vids of Dr Ethan. Dr Ethan's tips are actually insightful and I really learned a lot for finals! He is the helpful med student on YouTube and he talks about health and health.
You should check his channel out and give the health enthusiast a subscribe! ➡️ #DoctorEthanScience
Even with to referrals and after taking my child to a mental health ward in hospital and a referral from them to as well as my doctor CYMHS won’t help my daughter.. they just palmed us off to another organisation..
as a parent I’m devastated that I’m back a square one again with no help again.
