(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) proudly announces the addition of Misty Dillon, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience in mental health care.
Misty earned her Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University South Bend and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bethel University.
Throughout her career, she has worked across a wide range of settings, including private practice, hospital-based care, crisis intervention, and community mental health. Misty brings extensive experience in supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use, and other mental health concerns impacting daily life. She has also worked closely with children and families involved in foster care, as well as individuals navigating court-ordered services.
Her approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. Misty focuses on helping individuals build practical skills and strategies they can use in their daily lives.
“I strive to help people help themselves,” Misty shared. “We work together so individuals feel supported, confident, and equipped with the tools they need.”
Throughout her career, Misty has also held leadership roles, including serving as a clinical supervisor and working collaboratively with healthcare teams, law enforcement, and community organizations to ensure individuals receive the right level of care and support.
DCMH completed the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), which highlighted mental health as a significant and growing need in Decatur County. Community members, when polled, identified mental health as a top priority, and data showed gaps in access to care. In response to these findings, DCMH is expanding access to mental health services, including the addition of experienced providers like Misty Dillon, LCSW, to better support the needs of the community.
“We are excited to welcome Misty,” said Laura Walsman, DCMH Practice Operations Director. “Her experience across multiple care settings, combined with her compassionate and practical approach, will be a valuable addition.”
Misty is looking forward to becoming part of the Greensburg community.
“I’m excited to get to know Greensburg, Decatur County, and be a part of the community,” she said.
Outside of her work, Misty enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors. She finds peace in nature, especially near the water, and values the sense of balance it brings.
Misty looks forward to supporting patients on their mental health journey and helping individuals and families feel empowered in their care. She is accepting new patients ages eight years and older at Decatur County Primary Care, located at 718 N. Lincoln St., Greensburg, IN 47240.
