A new online platform designed to support mental health and wellbeing has been launched in Jersey, offering islanders access to courses, activities and recovery resources.

The Recovery Hub, created by Mental Health Services with contributions from people who have lived experience of mental illness, focuses on helping individuals build confidence, develop coping skills and strengthen social connections.

Health and Care Jersey said the initiative is centred on shared learning and empowerment rather than medical treatment, with the aim of giving people practical support throughout their recovery journey.

The platform provides free access to a range of community-based activities, including art, exercise and wellbeing courses. Islanders can also use the website’s booking system to explore available sessions and check whether they are eligible to attend.

Courses cover subjects such as sleep management, mood improvement, symptom management and coping techniques. While some programmes are open to all islanders, others are intended for people currently receiving support from Adult Mental Health Services.

Andy Weir, Managing Director at Health and Care Jersey, said the hub forms part of a wider strategy to improve mental health support across the island.

He said: “The Mental Health Recovery Hub is a key part of our all-island approach to improving mental health and wellbeing.

“The hub aligns with our all-age mental health strategy, launched earlier this year, which focuses on prevention, early intervention and helping people improve their wellbeing and recovery through new connections and support.”

The Recovery Hub is also inviting people with personal experience of mental illness to help deliver courses, while local organisations are being encouraged to partner with the initiative.

Groups already involved include Jersey Heritage through its “Colour our Collection” art project, as well as Accessible Yoga, Connection and Support After Suicide (CASAS), Boxing Fitness and Tai Chi programmes.
