“I don’t even think another human could do this. I don’t even know how I did this,” OsamaSon admits backstage in Psychotic, a new FADER documentary.

South Carolina rapper-producer OsamaSon is one of few artists who can proudly say they’ve built their career on their own. Growing up in between households and states, he started rapping on his own beats because no one else would; He fitted his own form of maximalist rage rap, remaining himself in the face of his peers’ clout and almost his entire discography is purely his own work, with only a handful of featured songs across some 20 albums. Revisit OsamaSon’s 2024 interview with The FADER about his album Jump Out.

Blunt in hand, OsamaSon walks us through his life on the road following the release of his most recent studio album psykotic in October of 2025. In between sets and a quick shopping spree, he explains what his current life looks like, from his creative process, to managing mental health living under the spotlight, and how he can’t help but just focus on himself. Directed by Alex Hodor-Lee, the documentary offers a rare peek into one of underground’s rap most eminent yet elusive names, revealing that a mysterious public image isn’t always intentional, but oftentimes a byproduct of preferring to keep to oneself.
