From THE COCOON

The Cocoon, Wood County’s only domestic and sexual violence advocacy agency and emergency shelter, has received certification from the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health as a supplemental agency.

This certification serves to recognize that The Cocoon meets the rigorous standards required to provide high-quality, best practice advocacy and prevention services set forth by the Ohio Administrative Code. Agencies are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that they remain in compliance with best practices, including review and investigation into complaints from the public.

The mission of the Department of Behavioral Health is to provide statewide leadership of a high-quality mental health and addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery system that is effective and valued by all Ohioans. The Department of Behavioral Health strives to demonstrate its core values in relationships with constituents across the state, with state sister agencies, and within the department.
