During Mental Health Awareness Month, the Greene County Medical Center recently hired a new individual for its Behavioral Health Clinic.

According to the medical center, Nancy Olson is a Licensed Master Social Worker who comes to the Behavioral Health Clinic with a wide range of experience. The medical center states that Olson has worked in California, Oregon, North Carolina and the state of Washington, where she has been involved in outpatient therapy, correctional facilities and been with the Veterans Affairs system.

The medical center says that with Olson’s background of having worked in both urban and rural settings, she understands the challenges that people face with mental health in smaller communities. Greene County Medical Center notes that Olson has knowledge in evidence-based methods, along with cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies and solution-focused therapy. She is currently seeing patients 14 and older.

The medical center states that Olson’s psychology bachelor’s degree is from the University of La Verne in California, with a master’s degree in social work from Walla Walla University in Washington. She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Social Workers.

To make an appointment with Olson, contact the Behavioral Health Clinic at 515-386-2488.
