TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – ICE Homeland Security Investigations arrested a former Tucson mental health counselor on federal charges of production of child pornography and is now asking the public to help identify potential victims.
Special agents arrested Xiomar Diaz, 33, of Tucson, following an investigation with the Tucson Police Department. The investigation showed Diaz’s involvement with the production of child sexual abuse material with child victims, one of which is known to reside in Tucson.
Investigators say Xiomar Diaz lured victims online and made child sexual content
Authorities seized numerous electronic devices as part of the investigation. Diaz operated online under the username “velander12” or “Xixi” when speaking to children online.
Diaz worked in some capacity with children as a counselor with a large behavioral health provider in Tucson. Due to his employment as a counselor working with children or in close proximity of children, authorities are seeking information that may help identify potential victims Diaz may have engaged or abused.
If your child, or a child you know, was in contact with Diaz, contact the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE or through ICE’s online tip form, or contact your local law enforcement immediately. The charges in the complaint are merely accusations, and Diaz is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
