The union representing federal air traffic controllers says an estimated 12 controllers died by suicide in 2024, a dramatic jump from the nearly 12 combined deaths in the two years prior. Jonathan Stewart, a supervisory air traffic controller who has been on leave since May 2025, tells “Morning in America” the pressure on controllers has skyrocketed. “Nobody knows about it, except for the controller that’s suffering in silence,” he says.
