I think that having those personal experiences can build empathy, which is great for developing a healthy rapport between patients and their doctors. But at the same time, having the direct delivery of some news or recommendations is equally important because it can (but not always will) provide the necessary amount of seriousness to the problem so that the patient is forced to look at the reality of things.
Like a lot of things involving public services or even in cases of customer support, it should be a maintained balance of empathy and factuality. The unfortunate part is that many facilities are likely underfunded and under-equipped (at least in North American countries / provinces / states) to handle this balancing act successfully.
I think this issue will be solved completely once I finish my invention that instantly causes the physician (or my husband) to feel my exact pain. It will also prove who the fakers are. That’s a plus. 😂
You have clots in your system and they get into bad spots causing you to gasp for more oxygen causing panic breathing or shortness of breath. When I am off my blood thinners then it seems to all but vanish but I can’t stop taking them cause I feel when I get a clot or blood flow restriction. So I cut my meds to one pill a day but I try to come off. But can’t come off them completely the longest was 20 days off my blood thinners.
Thank God I have a psychiatrist that has experienced this. It used to send them to the hospital and they legitimately thought they were dying. So my doctor took one look at me and instantly knew something was wrong. I hate the fact that my doctor has to experience this but I'm also thankful that they understand how real it is and all of the symptoms that it comes with. It was very helpful and made me feel like I was in good hands.
I get anxious just thinking about feeling anxious, which raises my heart rate/blood pressure and then i get more anxious that ill have a heart attack 💀🥴🤦🏻♀️ its a fricken loop
Well to me "It feels like you're in real life danger your mind starts overthinking worst case scenarios, like you're about to get killed or something horrible is coming. Your heart races, you feel panicked…but in reality, you're totally safe. Is it just your brain lying to you with a false alarm?
My last ER visit from another attack, my nurse told me she wanted to hug me because she knew exactly how I felt because she had experienced it herself. We're the only one who know how debilitating this is. It's mentally exhausting.

Yeah but doctors can skip on down to the med room or write themselves a script to deal with their anxiety

Memory Support from Planet Ayurveda has helped me maintain better focus. I feel more productive, and my mind feels less tired.
